The Client

The client is a large bookstore in Melbourne, Australia. They would like to spread their customer base across the Australia. They need help in marketing and selling their books online, an ecommerce site was thereby the most suitable options. And ePeaksoft was approached as its partner to build their online bookstore. The site needs to allow readers to buy books online, as well as some other features to attract and make readers always come back again.

Finally, the whole site was to be completed in as short time as possible.

The Solution

From the requirements, it is clear that the main objective of the client going online is to spread their customer base. We suggest divide this system into two sub system - frontend and backend. Backend allow the webmaster to organize books, manage catalogue, manage inventory, manage reader's feedback, manage reader's bill and view statistics. Frontend is the main portal for readers, readers can register to become a member, browse or search books based on some rules they want, and then buy books they like.

Backend:
  • Catalog Management, Book Concern Management and Book Management - This allows bookstore to manage books and the information related to books. Webmaster can enter information like the name of book, ISBN, author, price, quantity, discount, book concern, etc. The webmaster can also upload pictures for each book.
  • Reader Support - Readers continue to be the key even in an online business. This allows bookstore to keep in touch with readers and give readers a personalized interactions.
  • Bill Management - This allows bookstore to monitor the billing and shipping status.
